As you know I am super passionate about all people's health. I lead by example and make the best health decisions I can so as a detox, three times a year I go on a Green Binge!

What's that you say? Well for 10 days I eat only green plant based foods and more H20!

YES NOTHING ELSE  - INCLUDING COFFEE.........................Ahhhhhhhhhh

Breakfast Is a green smoothie. I always use baby spinach and kale as a base, then add grapes, a pear, or apple, broccoli, celery, cucumber and either coconut water or milk and blitz! I usually drink 600 - 800 mls to fill me up. I personally don't follow recipes and usually wing it to experiment with the things I have around or think may work!

Lunch is usually a big mixed green salad with water cress, parsley, cabbage, spinach, kale, cucumber, pea's, avocado, cos lettuce, spring onion, garlic garnished with lemon juice and a drizzle of olive oil and apple cider vinegar!

Dinner is a salad and some steamed or mashed greens. Brussel sprouts, zuchini, broccoli, bok choy, beans and peas. Dress with a dash of salt, lemon juice or a tiny bit of butter (salt reduced). 

I strongly believe the first step in losing weight is detoxification, to remove toxic overload from the body. Toxins stored in fat cells are difficult to get rid of through dieting alone. You must first detoxify the body. It will lead to overall improved health and wellness. Raw greens can heal the body. You will detoxify your body through elimination of certain foods for ten days and reprogram your taste buds to desire healthy, nutrient-rich foods.  


Dark green leafy vegetables are perhaps the most potent superfood on the planet. They are also the most ignored and avoided foods as well. If you consider the powerful dose of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients that we get from spinach, kale, chard, collards, dandelion and other greens, it’s a wonder we can live without them.
Leafy green vegetables have more nutrition per calorie than any other food. Greens make up a significant source vitamins A, C, E and K as well as several B vitamins. They are rich sources of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium. They are rich in fiber, extremely low in fat and carbohydrates and provide an excellent source of protein.

Most health experts agree that the amount of leafy greens that we should consume is likely much higher than just 3 servings per week!

I eat about 4-6 servings per day (that’s about two small bunches or “heads”), mostly in green smoothies.

Drink Your Green Smoothies!

You can use just about any green leafy vegetable in a green smoothie. The most popular are:

– Spinach (preferably baby spinach)
– Kale
– Swiss chard
– Collard greens
– Dandelion greens
– Turnip greens
– Beat greens
– Bok Choy
– Parsley
– Arugula
– Romaine lettuce
– Green and red leaf lettuce


You will have initial detox effects! These are the body eliminating toxins, dumping them into your blood stream and waste system and purging you, leaving you cleaner, healthier and happier!

Head aches, joint pain, increased toilet frequency, tummy aches and maybe even the sniffles. But after day 4 or 5 these will ease and you will feel great.
